UPDATED STORY: Two men arrested in connection with Walker Woods homicide

DOVER, DELAWARE (5/14/2015) A Smyrna High School student was shot to death in Dover on Wednesday night, Dover police reported this morning. It was the city’s fourth homicide of the year and the state’s second homicide of the day.

The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. on Harmony Lane in the Walker Woods development.

A 911 call reported the sound of a gunshot and a man lying on the ground near the rear of the development, Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Officers found 19-year-old Gary Adams with a single gunshot wound and administered first aid.

Adams was taken by ambulance to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, where he later died from his wounds, Hoffman said.

“Smyrna High School administrators have been contacted and will have crisis counselors available to those who wish to utilize the service,” Hoffman said.

He said Smyrna police were notified and are in contact with school officials.
