2 men wounded by gunfire near New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (4/13/2019) Two men were wounded by gunfire while standing outside the Keno Tobacco Shop near New Castle, the Delaware State Police reported this morning.

The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. Friday in the Star Center at 3125 New Castle Ave. (Route 9).

Police said the victims, a 28-year-old from Middletown and a 26-year-old from Wilmington, heard gunshots and realized they had been hit.

An acquaintance drove the pair to Wilmington Hospital before troopers arrived.

One victim suffered a graze wound and was released. The other suffered a wound police described as not life-threatening.

Police said they had no suspect information.
