WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (5/9/2015) Construction will continue to cause various daytime and nighttime closures at the Interstate 95/U.S. 202 interchange (Exit 8) north of Wilmington through May 18, DelDOT reports.
Work will involve repaving the roadway and painting concrete walls on the bridge.
1) 5 a.m. Saturday, May 9, until 5 a.m. Monday, May 11
I-95 northbound CLOSED at Exit 8
Detour: Traffic will be detoured to the ramp to northbound U.S. 202, continue to Naamans Road, turn right onto Naamans and follow to I-95 Exit 11.
2) 5 a.m. Saturday, May 9, until 5 a.m. Monday, May 11
Ramp from southbound U.S. 202 to northbound I-95 will be closed.
Detour: Traffic on U.S. 202 southbound directed to make a left on Market Street/Philadelphia Pike, make a left onto Marsh Road and follow Marsh Road to the northbound I-95 ramp.
3) 10 p.m. Monday, May 11, until 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 12
Closure of Exit 8/I-95 southbound to U.S. 202 northbound and southbound.
Detour: Traffic detoured to Exit 7A-B Delaware Avenue, follow Jackson Street, make a left onto 9th Street and make a left onto Adams Street, take the ramp to I-95 northbound and take Exit 8 to go north or south on U.S. 202.
4) 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 13
Left lane closed on southbound I-95 from south of Exit 8 to the ramp bridge over I-95.
Wednesday, May 13; Thursday, May 14; and Friday, May 15, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. each day.
Right lanes closed on southbound I-95 from south of the U.S. 202 bridge over I-95 to the Brandywine Bridge.
5) 10 p.m. Friday, May 15, until 5 a.m. Monday, May 18
Closure of southbound I-95 at Exit 8.
Detour: Traffic will take Exit 8 north to northbound U.S. 202, make a right at Weldin Road, make a right at Foulk Road, and make a left at southbound U.S. 202 to the ramp to southbound I-95.
Truck detour: Take Exit 8 north to northbound U.S. 202, make a left at Mill Road and make a left at the Route 141 spur, merge onto southbound U.S. 202 to the ramp for southbound I-95.
6) 10 p.m. Friday, May 15, until 5 a.m. Monday, May 18
Closure of the ramp from northbound U.S. 202 to southbound I-95.
Detour: Traffic will take Exit 8 north to northbound U.S. 202, make a right at WeldinRoad, make a right at Foulk Road and make at left at southbound U.S. 202 to the ramp to southbound I-95.
Truck detour: Exit 8 north to northbound U.S. 202 make a left at Mill Road, make a left at the Route 141 spur, merge onto southbound U.S. 202 to the ramp to southbound I-95.
7) Weekdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Closure of the right or left lane on southbound I-95 as needed from just north or just south of the U.S. 202 bridge.
Closure of the right lane on southbound U.S. 202 from the Augustine Cut-Off to the ramp to southbound I-95.
Signs will be posted to direct motorists.
