31-year-old man killed in Pike Creek motorcycle crash

PIKE CREEK, DELAWARE (2/6/2017) A 31-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Pike Creek early Sunday, the Delaware State Police said.

The crash was reported at 12:47 a.m. on New Linden Hill Road at Pike Creek Center Road.

Police said the man, from Wilmington, was operating a 2000 Triumph TT600 motorcycle eastbound at high speed and failed to negotiate a left curve, striking a guard rail.

The driver, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are withholding his name pending notification of next of kin.
