Motorcyclist critically injured in crash on Old Capitol Trail

STANTON, DELAWARE (9/7/2015) A 24-year-old man was critically injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a van in the 4000 block of Old Capitol Trail, authorities said today.

The crash happened about 8:55 p.m. Sunday.

Sgt. Michael McColley, a spokesman for New Castle County paramedics, said the man’s bike collided with the front of the van and he was ejected, landing on the roadway behind the van.

He suffered multiple cuts and scrapes, a possible fractured arm, possible pelvic fractures and internal injuries, McColley said.

The motorcyclist was treated at the scene by paramedics and then taken by Mill Creek Fire Company ambulance to Christiana Hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

New Castle County police are investigating the crash.
