Two Rehoboth-area robberies may be linked

UPDATED STORY: 28-year-old man charged in 3 Rehoboth-area robberies

REHOBOTH BEACH, DELAWARE (9/3/2015) A woman was robbed of her purse at the Midway Outlets north of Rehoboth Beach, and Delaware State Police think the the robber may be the same one who snatched a purse Sunday in the city.

The latest crime happened about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday when a 22-year-old woman was sitting on a bench outside the Nautica outlet store at 34485 Midway Outlet Drive.

The male first asked her for a lighter, then quickly grabbed her purse and ran. She gave chase but lost him and was slightly injured when she fell.

The woman didn’t require medical treatment, police said.

Her purse was found a few hours later inside the Super Fresh store at 18578 Coastal Highway (Route 1) with some contents still inside but her cash gone.

The robber was described as white, 6-feet to 6-feet-2, and wearing a blue short-sleeve collared shirt, khaki cargo shorts and grey sneakers.
