2 injured in I-495 crash

EDGEMOOR, DELAWARE (1/25/2018) Two people were injured early today in a crash on Interstate 495 in Edgemoor, the Delaware State Police said.

The crash was reported at 2:14 a.m. in the southbound lanes north of Edgemoor Road.

Police said a 2005 Ford Escape was stopped in the left travel lane for unknown reason and was rear-ended by a southbound 2016 Nissan Pathfinder.

The driver of the Ford, a 22-year-old Philadelphia man, was flown by state police helicopter to Christiana Hospital in Stanton with serious injuries.

The driver of the Nissan, a 62-year-old Wilmington man, was taken by ambulance to the hospital with injuries police described as not life-threatening.
