Two children in vehicle carjacked at Wawa store found safe

STANTON, DELAWARE (1/5/2018) Two children were inside a vehicle that was carjacked outside a Wawa store in Stanton while their mother, a 25-year-old Elsmere woman, went inside to shop, the Delaware State Police reported.

The incident happened about 5:05 p.m. Thursday at 2030 Limestone Road (Route 7), and the car, a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, was found in a nearby neighborhood about five minutes later with the children unhurt.

A passerby there told police a white man about 40 years old fled on foot after abandoning the stolen car in the driveway of a home. He was wearing a tan jacket, white knit hat and dark pants.
