DOVER, DELAWARE (9/30/2017) The crash of a small airplane blocked Route 9 east of Dover for about an hour and a half this morning, Delaware State Police said.
The pilot of a 1971 single-engine Cessna called 911 at 10:22 a.m. to report the plane had overshot the runway at Chandelle Estates Airport, 114 Kruser Blvd.
The plane came to rest in the middle of Bayside Drive (Route 9).
The pilot and a passenger were uninjured, police said.
The prop and front landing gear of the plane were damaged in the incident.
Police said an investigation would be conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration.
