UPDATED STORY: Woman struck on U.S. 40 in Bear is in critical condition
BEAR, DELAWARE (9/16/2016) A woman was struck by a car while walking on U.S. 40 (Pulaski Highway) in Bear this evening, according to reports from the scene.
The collision happened about 8 p.m. in the eastbound lanes at Church Road.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.
The car stopped at the scene.
Eastbound U.S. 40 was restricted to a single lane as police investigated.
Delaware State Police are investigating.
