UPDATED STORY: Man charged in murder of Delaware City woman

DELAWARE CITY, DELAWARE (7/10/2016) Delaware State Police have released the name of a Delaware City woman found dead in her home in the 200 block of Adams St. on Saturday.

State police took over the investigation at the request of city police when foul play was suspected.

An autopsy found that the death of Heather L. Stamper, 31, was a homicide from blunt force trauma, state police said.

Delaware City and New Castle County police responded at 2:24 p.m. when a friend called 911 to report she was unconscious in her bedroom. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating and asked anyone with information to call Detective M. Csapo at 302-698-8427.
