24-year-old man wounded in Bear shooting

BEAR, DELAWARE (7/6/2016) A 24-year-old man was conscious and alert at a hospital following a shooting in Bear this afternoon, according to New Castle County police.

The shooting happened about 3:40 p.m., said Cpl. Tracey Duffy.

Investigators cordoned off the scene on Red Clay Drive, near the White Rock Road intersection in the Woodbridge town house community.

The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital in Stanton with multiple wounds to the lower body, said Duffy.

She said detectives are still investigating the shooting and asked anyone with information to call police at 302-573-2800.
