UPDATED STORY: Police identify woman sought in bank robbery, attempts
NEWARK, DELAWARE (4/2/2016) A woman robbed the WSFS bank branch in the College Square shopping center on Friday, the Newark police reported this morning.
The robbery happened about 4 p.m., when the woman walked in and wrote a note demanding money. She gave the note to a teller, who handed over cash. The robber fled on foot to a waiting getaway car.
The car, a maroon Buick, was seen leaving the parking lot towards Marrows Road. Police said the driver was described as a black male.
The woman was black, in her 20s, tall, thin with long dark hair, police said as they released surveillance images of her.
No one was injured in the robbery.
