Robbery try at Burger King drive-thru fails

CLAYMONT, DELAWARE (2/11/2016) A masked man with a gun walked up to the Burger King drive-thru in Claymont and attempted to rob the restaurant, but two employees he confronted went to another part of the business and called 911, the Delaware State Police said today.

The robbery attempt happened about 10 p.m. Tuesday at 2911 Philadelphia Pike.

The robber fled on foot, running south on Philadelphia Pike. No one in the restaurant was injured.

Police said the robber was black, 25-35 years old, 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-7 and about 220 pounds.

He was wearing a dark hooded coat, light-blue jeans and white sneakers.
