Police seek gunman after shooting near New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (12/16/2015) A 24-year-old man was wounded when gunfire broke out during an argument near New Castle on Tuesday, and police have released information on the suspect.

The incident happened about 1:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Freedom Trail, in the Saddlebrook town house community.

The victim was treated by New Castle County paramedics for a lower extremity wound and taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.

Cpl. Tom Jackson of New Castle County police said the victim was in front of his home with several friends when the argument began with someone walking by, who then fired the gun.

He was described as a black male, wearing dark clothing, about 5-feet-7 and with a slim build. He was walking a black dog.
