Brandywine Hundred bank robbery suspect identified – again

BRANDYWINE HUNDRED, DELAWARE (11/11/2015) A man sought in the robbery of a WSFS bank branch in Brandywine Hundred on Monday has been identified by Delaware State Police, and the suspect is the same man being sought in an earlier bank robbery in Wilmington.

The robbery of the WSFS bank inside the Safeway store at 2522 Foulk Road, at the Naamans Road intersection, happened about 1:24 p.m.

William R. Winchester, 46, of Wilmington, is being sought on a first-degree robbery charge. State police said he is 5-feet-9 and weighs 200 pounds.  He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Police said the robber handed a demand note to a teller implying he was armed, but no weapon was shown. No one was injured.

Wilmington police had earlier identified Winchester as a suspect in the robbery of an M&T Bank branch at 1207 N. Union St. last week.
