DOVER, DELAWARE (10/29/2015) The Scotton Landing fishing pier on Barkers Landing Road south of Dover will be closed for repairs from Monday through Nov. 13, state officials announced Wednesday.

Access to the parking lot and boat ramp will be unaffected.

A contractor will remove and replace the existing wooden deck and handrails.

The pier on the St. Jones River just west of Route 1 was built in 1986 and has become a popular fishing and crabbing attraction, according to the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.

The project is expected to be complete, with full access restored, by Nov. 14 but weather may delay the work.

Access to the parking lot and boat ramp at Scotton Landing will be unaffected.
