Driver trapped 30 minutes in upside-down vehicle in Greenville

GREENVILLE, DELAWARE (10/29/2015) A 59-year-old man was trapped in his vehicle for half an hour after it struck a fence and rolled onto its roof in Greenville, authorities said.

The accident happened about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Centerville and Hillside roads, said paramedics Sgt. Michael A. McColley.

Firefighters from several fire companies freed the man from the upside-down vehicle.

He was treated by paramedics for a possible head injury and then taken by Hockessin Fire Company ambulance to Christiana Hospital in stable condition, McColley said.

New Castle County police are investigating the crash.

Cranston Heights and Elsmere fire companies also responded.
