First State Market on Kirkwood Highway robbed again

UPDATED STORY: 2 men arrested in robberies

ELSMERE, DELAWARE (10/15/2015) A gunman robbed the First State Market convenience store west of Elsmere for the second time in a week, Delaware State Police reported Wednesday.

The robbery happened about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday at 2510 Kirkwood Highway (Route 2).

The robber, armed with a handgun and with his face covered, demanded a clerk turn over cash from the register. The clerk complied and the robber fled toward Elizabeth Avenue.

No one was injured.

The robber was described as a white male about 5-feet-7 and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark shorts.

Police asked anyone with information to call troopers at 302-834-2630.
