5 hurt in U.S. 13 crash near New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (9/20/2015) Five people were injured, one of them seriously, in a four-vehicle crash on U.S. 13 (North DuPont Highway) near New Castle late Saturday night, authorities said.

The accident happened about 10:40 p.m. just south of Boulden Boulevard.

Three cars and an SUV were involved in the collision, said Cpl. Abigail E. Haas of New Castle County paramedics.

One person was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken by Wilmington Manor Fire Company ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in serious but stable condition, Haas said.

The four others, with minor injuries, were taken to Christiana by ambulances from Minquadale, Minquas and Holloway Terrace fire companies.

The crash is under investigation by Delaware State Police.
