4 taken to hospital after SUV, minivan crash in Bear

BEAR, DELAWARE (9/19/2015) Four people were taken to Christiana Hospital after an SUV and a minivan collided on Route 71 (Red Lion Road) on Friday night, authorities said.

The accident at Willow Oak Boulevard happened abgout 9:40 p.m.

A 60-year-old driver suffered an arm injury and possible head injury, said Sgt. Michael A. McColley of New Castle County paramedics.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics then flown to the hospital in a state police helicopter and was in stable condition, McColley said.

Three teenagers were taken to the hospital by Delaware City Fire Company ambulance for evaluation.

The crash is under investigation by Delaware State Police.
