20-year-old man wounded in Claymont drive-by shooting

CLAYMONT, DELAWARE (9/7/2015) A 20-year-old man was wounded when multiple gunshots were fired from a moving vehicle as he walked in the 300 block of Ridge Road shortly before noon today, Delaware State Police said.

The victim, from Linwood, Pennsylvania, was eastbound when the shots were fired from an unknown vehicle. He was struck in the abdomen and lower extremities, police said.

The vehicle was last seen driving west on Virginia Avenue.

New Castle County paramedics treated the man at the scene and he was then flown by Delaware State Police helicopter to Christiana Hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition, police said.

No suspect information was available.
