Driver dies after Route 9 crash

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (7/25/2015) The driver of a car that ran into a wrecker making a turn near New Castle a week ago has died of his injuries, Delaware State Police reported this morning.

Rodolfo Espinal-Vargas, 42, of New Castle, who was driving a 1994 Honda Accord on July 18 when it crashed on Route 9 (New Castle Avenue) at Pyles Lane, was pronounced dead on Wednesday at Christiana Hospital in Stanton, police said.

He had been admitted to the hospital the night of the crash.
