54-year-old man shot in Claymont

CLAYMONT, DELAWARE (7/24/2015) A 54-year-old man underwent surgery after being shot in the torso early today in Claymont, New Castle County police said.

The shooting happened in the first block of Fourth Avenue in the Overlook Colony area.

The victim was flown to Christiana Hospital and is in stable condition after the surgery, said Officer First Class Tracey Duffy.

She said the victim was talking to a group of men when the shooting happened.

The suspects were black, 18-25 years old and wearing dark clothing, Duffy said.
