UPDATED STORY: Pennsylvania man charged in Brandywine Hundred home invasion

BRANDYWINE HUNDRED, DELAWARE (7/16/2015) A shot was fired and a man was struck several times with a gun during a home invasion robbery Wednesday afternoon, Delaware State Police said.

The incident happened about 1:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Foulk Road.

The victim, a 41-year-old man, answered a knock at the door and was confronted by two males, both armed with guns, police said.

They struggled and the intruders struck the man with their weapons and a single round was fired into the floor.

The victim then fled to the second floor and the intruders took money from inside the home and ran across Foulk Road to a waiting vehicle.

The victim suffered multiple injuries, police said, but refused treatment at the scene.

The driver of the getaway vehicle was described as a white male.

The two intruders were black, with one about 5-feet-11 with a light goatee-style mustache and beard. He was wearing a navy blue baseball cap.

The other was about 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-8 and 160-164 pounds.
