Wilmington man arrested in Pike Creek robbery attempt; victim charged

PIKE CREEK, DELAWARE (7/5/2015) Delaware State Police have arrested a Wilmington man in connection with an attempted armed robbery of a woman at the Pike Creek Shopping Center, and the victim also has beenĀ charged, authorities said Saturday.

Phillip Pepe, 24, was arrested Thursday in the 500 block of N. Franklin St. in Wilmington.

He was charged with attempted robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said the knifepoint robbery try happened June 25 in the parking lot outside Valley Liquors at 4728 Limestone Road. The victim was sitting in a car with three children inside.

Detectives determined the victim, identified asĀ Adriana Reynaga, 26, of Oxford, had arranged to meet Pepe to purchase illegal drugs, police said, and provided false information when reporting the robbery attempt. She was charged with providing a false statement to police, falsely reporting an incident and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

She surrendered to police on Friday and was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

Pepe was released on $6,750 secured bail.
