PIKE CREEK, DELAWARE (6/26/2015) Delaware State Police say a man with a knife tried to rob a woman sitting in her car with her children outside Valley Liquors in Pike Creek.

The incident happened about 1:15 p.m. Thursday in the side parking lot of the store at the Pike Creek Shopping Center, 4728 Limestone Road (Route 7).

The man about 20-25 years old opened the unlocked passenger door and sat in the front seat, showed the knife and demanded money from the 26-year-old woman from Oxford, Pennsylvania.

She told him she didn’t have any, and he then tried to get her to get some from an ATM, police said, but she refused.

The woman and her children were not hurt.

The robber was described as white, 20-25 years old and about 160-180 pounds. He was wearing a light-colored T shirt and dark shorts.
