Dunleith mystery: 1 dead, 2 in critical condition

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (5/21/2015) Authorities are trying to determine what led to the death of an elderly woman from a home in the Dunleith community near New Castle, where two others were found unconscious and are in critical condition.

New Castle County paramedics responded to the home in the 400 block of Morehouse Drive on Tuesday, when a 79-year-old woman in cardiac arrest was taken by ambulance to Wilmington Hospital. She was later pronounced dead, county police said.

About 4 a.m. Wednesday, emergency medical crews were called to the same home. A 79-year-old unconscious man was taken to Christiana Hospital and was in critical condition, Officer First Class Tom Jackson said today.

Later Wednesday, another unconscious person was reported at the home, and a 58-year-old man was taken to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.

Jackson said police are still investigating the incident along with the state Division of Public Health, Division of Forensic Science and Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
