WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (4/17/2015) Two men have been charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of a man earlier this month after they were returned to Delaware, city police announced today.

Michael Broomer, 20, of Bear, and Atiba Mayfield, 21, of Wilmington were extradited from Pennsylvania on Thursday, where they were captured after a pursuit by police from Wilmington after the shooting on April 4.

They also face charges of conspiracy, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and by a person prohibited as well as resisting arrest.

Broomer also faces traffic charges from the pursuit after the fatal shooting of Raekwon Mangrum on April 4. The shooting, with multiple shots fired, happened about 6:30 p.m. in an alleyway off the 200 block of N. Monroe St., a residential area behind the Adams Four Shopping Center. A woman also was wounded.

Both men are being held without bail at Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington.
