More details released in I-495 pedestrian fatality

EDGEMOOR, DELAWARE (2/23/2015) State police have released more details about a man killed while walking across Interstate 495 in hopes of learning the victim’s identity.

The accident happened about 8 p.m. Jan. 22 in the northbound lanes just north of the Edgemoor Road interchange. He was knocked down by one vehicle that struck him and then hit by several others. None of the drivers stopped at the scene.

Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale described the victim as black, 45-65 years of age and weighing about 130 pounds. He had a beard and a moustache.

He was wearing a blue Legea winter coat with white trim and black lining, low-cut blue on white Nike sneakers with red laces, black sweatpants and blue jeans, Hale said.
