DOVER, DELAWARE (2/23/2015) A 34-year-old man broke into a woman’s apartment after she ended their relationship, wrote vulgar messages on the door and dumped bleach on some of her belongings, city police said Sunday.

Warrants were obtained for George Jones Jr., of the 200 block of Chenault Court in Dover, on charges of burglary, harassment, terroristic threatening, theft under $1,500 and criminal mischief over $1,000 and disorderly conduct.

The break-in happened about 5:45 p.m. Saturday at the Pine Grove Apartments, 255 Webbs Lane.

Police said after the woman broke off the relationship earlier in the day, Jones came to the home and then followed her for more than an hour after she left, sending her 59 text messages and trying to call her 119 times.

Some of the texts were threatening, police said.

Jones then stopped following his ex-girlfriend and went back to her apartment, breaking in through the front door, police said. He allegedly stole or damaged numerous items inside and then sent pictures of the damage to the woman’s cellphone.

Police are still trying to locate Jones and asked anyone with information to call the police department at 302-736-7111.
