UPDATED STORY: Man killed in January on I-495 is identified
EDGEMOOR, DELAWARE (1/22/2015) A male pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 495 this evening, state police said.
Police have not released the victim’s name or age.
The accident happened just before 8 p.m. as the victim was crossing the northbound lanes.
One vehicle, of unknown make and model, struck the victim, knocking him down, and then other vehicles struck him, Sgt. Richard Bratz said.
None of the vehicles stopped at the scene.
The northbound lanes were closed from the Edgemoor exit to the Philadelphia Pike exit for about two and a half hours,
