UPDATED STORY: Police develop “potential suspect” in Pike Creek shooting

PIKE CREEK, DELAWARE (2/1/2015) A man was shot in Pike Creek this evening, according to New Castle County police.

Officers were called to the 5100 block of Brigantine Court in the Mermaid Run Condominiums about 10:05 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

A 39-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds to the upper torso, said Officer First Class Tom Jackson, a police spokesman.

The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital and was in stable condition, Jackson said.

He said detectives are still investigating and seeking witnesses and surveillance images from the area. Anyone with information is asked to call 302-573-2800.
