Masked bandit gets cash from 7-Eleven, customer

NEWARK, DELAWARE (2/1/2015) A masked man armed with a handgun escaped with cash from a 7-Eleven convenience store east of Newark early today as well as money from one of its customers, state police said.

The robbery happened about 3:30 a.m. at 13 Red Mill Road, just south of Capitol Trail (Route 2).

The clerk — a 54-year-old man — and a 21-year-old man who was a customer were not injured.

The robber was described as about 6 feet tall and weighing 180-220 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket, black pants and white shoes.
