NEWARK, DELAWARE (2/1/2015) Two masked, armed robbers fled empty-handed after an employee at a Wendy’s Restaurant near Newark balked at giving them money, state police said this morning.

The robbery attempt happened about 9:20 p.m. Saturday at Capitol Trail (Route 2) and Possum Park Road.

The robbers first confronted a 46-year-old woman and demanded money from the register, but she fled to the rear of the business.

The pair then confronted a 25-year-old woman working at the restaurant but they ended up fleeing without any cash.
