Cash registers stolen from Dover liquor store

DOVER, DELAWARE (1/19/2015) A burglar came through the roof of a Dover liquor store and fled with two cash registers, city police said this morning.

The theft at Happy 13 Liquors, 262 S. DuPont Highway (U.S. 13), happened about 4:50 a.m. Saturday.

Lt. David Spicer said the thief removed a 12-inch square fan that was bolted to the roof, then used an extension cord tied around an air-conditioning unit to lower himself inside the store.

The burglar then used a pry bar to remove cash, money orders and checks from a register, fleeing out the back door with two cash registers, Spicer said.

The burglar was described as 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-8.
