GREENVILLE, DELAWARE (1/19/2015) A man questioned after multiple shots were fired near Vice President Joe Biden’s home was not charged in connection with the shooting, and the FBI has joined New Castle County in the investigation, authorities said today.

But the Hockessin man who was questioned by police in the area says he was beaten by police and he faces charges of resisting arrest and reckless endangerment in connection with that encounter, according to a media report.

The shots were heard by Secret Service agents at the Biden home on Barley Mill Road about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The vice president and his wife, Jill, were not home at the time, according to the Secret Service.

Police questioned other residents in the area and searched for bullet damage but found none.

Shots also were reported heard a short time later around the nearby Hoopes Reservoir.

Police asked anyone with information on either incident to call Detective David Graham at 302-395-8110 or email DGraham@nccde.org.
