Snowstorm closing state offices, schools across Delaware

DELAWARE (1/4/2018) An expected major snowstorm is closing state offices and schools across the state today.

Wilmington and Newark city offices also will be closed today.

Officials announced this morning that state offices are closed during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in all three counties.

Employees classified as “non-essential” are not to report, but “essential” employees are to report as scheduled.

Non-employees scheduled for hours after 4:30 p.m. should check for later updates.

The National Weather Service is predicting as much as 4 inches of snow upstate and 9 inches downstate, with winds gusting close to 40 mph.
