Brother, sister shot in Wilmington

Wilmington police investigate shooting at 13th and North Claymont streets. (Photo: Delaware Free News)WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (11/30/2017) A brother and sister were wounded by gunfire in Wilmington late Wednesday, and the woman was in critical condition, city police said.

The shooting happened shortly after 10 p.m. in the 1300 block of N. Claymont St.

A 25-year-old woman was found in the 1200 block with a gunshot wound to her chest. She was treated at the scene by New Castle County paramedics, then taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton, where police said she underwent surgery.

Her 26-year-old brother arrived at Wilmington Hospital by private vehicle. He suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder and jaw. Police said he was in stable condition.

Police said the suspect was a black male wearing a green Eagles cap, camouflage jacket, black sweatshirt, dark pants with a white strip on the sides and black sneakers.
