(Photo: Delaware Free News)MIDDLETOWN, DELAWARE (10/2/2017) Seven people, including five children, safely escaped after fire broke out at a home where they were sleeping in Middletown early today. Investigators determined the fire was arson.

The blaze broke out about 4 a.m. in the first block of W. Lockwood St., near North Broad Street.

Volunteer Hose Company extinguished the fire, which caused about $10,000 damage, said Michael G. Chionchio, assistant state fire marshal.

He said there were no injuries, and the five children and two adults who escaped have been relocated.

He asked anyone with information on the fire to call investigators at 302-323-5375.
