
NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (6/12/2017) A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting last week in the Overview Gardens community near New Castle, authorities said this morning.
The shooting of a 27-year-old man happened about 1:10 p.m. Friday in the first block of Briarcliff Drive. The victim remains in critical condition at a hospital.
Churchill Christie, who lives in the same block of Briarcliff Drive, was taken into custody there Friday, the New Castle County police said.
He was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangering and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
Christie was being held at Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington in lieu of $126,000 cash bail.
