WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (6/12/2017) Motorists on Interstate 495 face lane closures and major delays next week as repairs begin on the bridge over the Christina River, the Delaware Department of Transportation announced.
From 7 p.m. Monday June 19 until 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 20 two northbound lanes will be closed.
From 7 p.m. June 20 until 3 p.m. Wednesday June 21, two southbound lanes will be closed.
From 7 p.m. Wednesday June 21 until 3 p.m. Thursday June 22, one southbound lane will be closed.
A DelDOT contractor, Eastern Highway Specialists, will be making concrete deck and parapet wall repairs on the bridge between the Route 9 and East 12th Street exits.
DelDOT urges motorists to take Interstate 95 as an alternative or other routes.
