TOWNSEND, DELAWARE (6/8/2017) Road work will require a lane closure on Route 1 east of Townsend today.
The Delaware Department of Transportation announced crews will be repairing an approach roadway joint at the bridge over Blackbird Creek.
The northbound right lane and shoulder will be closed from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
The bridge is between north Smyrna (Exit 119) and Odessa/Middletown (Exit 136).
DelDOT said construction crews and equipment will be in close proximity to the travel lane and motorists should anticipate lane shifts.
