(Photo: Delaware Free News)PIKE CREEK, DELAWARE (5/1/2017) A fuel truck overturned while backing out of a driveway on Capitol Trail (Route 2) this morning, according to reports from the scene.

The crash happened about 7 a.m. just west of Upper Pike Creek Road.

The truck carrying 2,500 gallons of heating oil went into a culvert and flipped over, causing a minor oil spill.

The driver declined medical treatment at the scene.

Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder, Mill Creek and Cranston Heights fire companies responded, as well as a Belvedere Fire Company hazmat unit.

One westbound lane was closed while Delaware State Police investigated and until the wreckage is cleared.
