PIKE CREEK, DELAWARE (3/7/2017) An attempted kidnapping and robbery of a woman Monday night at the Bluffs Apartments in Pike Creek is believed to be related to two kidnappings at other complexes last month, New Castle County police said.
The latest incident happened about 6:30 p.m. in the area of Sheldon Drive.
A female resident was approached by a man armed with a handgun as she walked to her apartment building. He demanded money and forced her to her apartment, where another adult resident answered the door and the kidnapper fled, police said.
He was described as 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-8, with average build and dark clothing. His face was covered.
Officer John-Paul Piser said the man is believed to be the same one who kidnapped, robbed and had sexual contact with a woman at the Top of the Hill Apartments in Brandywine Hundred on Feb. 13 and who kidnapped, robbed and sexually assaulted a woman at the Arundel Apartments in Mill Creek on Feb. 19.
