1 man dies, another critical after Wilmington shooting

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (2/24/2017) One man has died and another is in critical condition after a shooting in Wilmington on Wednesday night, according to city police.

The two were shot about 8 p.m. in the 600 block of E. 23rd St.

Police responding for a report of shots fired found a 38-year-old man on the first floor inside a home with wounds to his upper torso.

A 21-year-old man also was found down in the street with a wound to his back.

Both were treated by New Castle County paramedics and taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanotn, where the 38-year-old man later died.

The 21-year-old was in critical but stable condition, police said.
