Woman trapped, injured in Newport crash

NEWPORT, DELAWARE (11/25/2016) A woman was injured when her car collided with another vehicle at an intersection in Newport this afternoon, with her car overturning and striking a utility pole, according to reports from the scene.

The crash happened about 2 p.m. at Justis and James streets, in front of the Minquas Fire Company station.

The woman injured, driving a Saturn Aura, was freed by firefighters in about 30 minutes. She suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The two occupants of the other car, a Ford Fusion, were not injured.
