DELAWARE CITY, DELAWARE (11/8/2016) A 35-year-old man was injured Monday morning when his bicycle collided with a motor vehicle near Delaware City, authorities said.
The incident happened about 7 a.m. on Route 72 (Wrangle Hill Road) at the Route 1 northbound ramp.
The bicyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered a possible back injury, said Cpl. David J. McKinney Jr. of New Castle County paramedics.
He was flown to Christiana Hospital in Stanton by a Delaware State Police helicopter.
State police are investigating the crash.
Delaware City Fire Company also responded.
