Delaware robbery suspect captured in Maryland

PERRYVILLE, MARYLAND (10/28/2016) A suspect in a Newark, Delaware, GameStop store robbery was captured near Perryville, Maryland State Police said Friday.

At 3:22 p.m., police received an alert for a green BMW with a Pennsylvania registration on Route 272 approaching U.S. 40 that was linked to the Delaware robbery.

The robber had used a silver revolver and fled with a large amount of cash, police said.

Maryland troopers located the car but the driver refused to stop and fled west on U.S. 40.

Police said the BMW made an abrupt turn into a dead-end wooded lane just prior to Coudon Boulevard, then the driver fled on foot.

Troopers captured the man, identified as Elivs Aaron Anderson, 41, of Rosedale, Maryland, and recovered a large amount of cash, police said.

Anderson was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, reckless driving, fleeing and eluding, and other traffic charges in Maryland. A warrant is currently being applied for Anderson in Delaware for the armed robbery and other crimes.

The vehicle had been stolen in Baltimore and the license plate was stolen in Delaware, police said.

Cecil County Sheriff deputies, Perryville police and Maryland Transportation Authority police assisted in the arrest.
