LAUREL, DELAWARE (10/22/2016) One person was found dead after fire broke out west of Laurel, the Delaware state Fire Marshal’s Office said today.
Firefighters from Laurel Fire Department and surrounding areas responded to the structure fire shortly after 8 p.m. Friday in the 5000 block of Watson Road.
The victim was found inside the building, said Alan Brown, assistant state fire marshal.
The body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for identification, Brown said.
Investigators are still trying to determine how the fire started.
Damage was estimated at $35,000.
